Watch Greg Rusedski and celebrities battle for the Allplay Cup Challenge

Added on: November 14, 2011

A special exhibition to all afternoon session ticket holders on Thursday 1 December before the start of the AEGON Masters at 1pm.

The AEGON Masters Tennis is pleased to welcome the allplay Challenge to this year’s tournament. Allplay is a national campaign, brought to you by the LTA, with a simple goal – to help more people play tennis. As part of the campaign four famous faces took up the Challenge of learning to play tennis.

Over the last 6 months the allplay Challenge has followed Olympic heptathlon Champion, Denise Lewis; TV Presenter, Tim Lovejoy; broadcaster, Jamie Theakston; and TV presenter, Lorraine Kelly as they learn to play tennis. Some are complete beginners while others haven’t picked up a racket for years. Since June, they’ve had weekly coaching, got some tips from Greg Rusedski, tried cardio tennis and pitched their skills against the cream of young British talent. The four personalities will help to highlight how easy it is to get involved in tennis and how much fun it can be. You can follow their progress at here.

The Challenge culminates in a short exhibition match in front of this year’s AEGON Masters crowd with Greg Rusedski providing a helping hand throughout. Those with afternoon tickets on Thursday 1st December get an exclusive chance to see the Challengers new skills on show. They’ll need to get there early to see the action – the doors will be opening at 11.30am with the Cup starting at 12pm.
